BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND STORY.BIO. Keith Tipple.
I grew up in a little coal mining village in Nottinghamshire England, my family were not committed Christians and we did not attend church on any regular basis. At the age of 17yrs I was introduced to an Assembly of God Church and heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Although I had always believed in God, there came a definite moment during those first few weeks of attending Church that I surrendered my life over to the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible calls it being ‘saved’ or ‘born again’. Within the space of the next twelve months my parents and two of my grandparents started attending church and were also wonderfully saved.
The call of God was very powerful on my life as God spoke right into my spirit the words ‘This is what I want you to do’. I was actually watching a short film that the BBC had produced of some incredible healing miracles that were happening under the ministry of two Pastors from Manchester England ( Barret and Williams). The voice of the Lord in my spirit was so clear that I knew I had to obey. All previous ambitions and plans faded, and a growing desire to serve the Lord was born within me. I attended the Assemblies of God Bible College which was situated in Kenley, England. During those two years of study, I also learned to wait upon the Lord and came out of College with a passion to see lost people saved. Pastor Raymond Belfield invited me to assist in a town wide evangelistic crusade in Wigan, Lancashire. Immediately on leaving college I moved to Wigan and began to help prepare for the crusade which was to take place in several venues of the town in a large tent, and to conclude with meetings in the church venue.
These were exciting times, the evangelist was booked and I was on hand to assist. We saw some amazing miracles during those tent missions, people were packing the tent night by night. I have often used the illustration of the eagle pushing the young eaglets out of the nest, in doing so the eaglets have to learn to fly! One night, the crowd was so large and so many people had come for prayer that the ‘evangelist’ suddenly asked me to start praying for a line of people. The first one I prayed for was blind in one eye, the eye immediately opened, faith was so high, and the atmosphere spiritually electric! The response to those meetings was so great, we had to extend the crusade by weeks, I had been invited originally for some six to ten weeks, I stayed for six years!
During those six years I conducted many evangelistic missions in tents around the town of Wigan, and also held evangelistic crusades for the Home Missions of Assemblies of God throughout the country, with many people coming to know the Lord and miracles of healing. My time was shared between the Wigan church and wider crusades. Whilst in Wigan something else happened that was to change my life for the better, it was there that I met my wife Val. She worked on a voluntary basis for the church and was very much involved. She is a wonderful partner in ministry, and has an anointed ministry herself, and ministers both at home and abroad in a powerful way. Some six years later after the crusade in Wigan, we moved to Ulverston in Cumbria, it was there we pioneered a church from an initial small group of people, into a thriving church community. We opened a newly renovated old concert hall, which was named Emmanuel Christian Centre. By the grace of God the church grew, many of the new people coming from the Town of Barrow in Furness. We felt the directing of the Holy Spirit to plant out another church in this town, so we released a large number of people and Emmanuel Community Church was born. We ministered for some 13years in Cumbria, until we felt the definite leading of the Holy Spirit to move to Chesterfield in Derbyshire. Zion church was a Assemblies of God Church that had a long history, and was a totally different challenge, to the ones we had known previously, being churches that we had pioneered. We served the Lord for twelve years in Chesterfield, we experienced the Lord’s blessing upon our labors and look back on both Chesterfield and Ulverston with many happy memories and many wonderful friends.
I have ministered several times at the British National Assemblies of God Conference, and Val and I have traveled to many countries ministering the Word of God over the years. South Africa, Uganda, India, Romania, Slovakia, Finland, Singapore, Malaysia, East Malaysia and Brazil.
In 2002 we had the invitation to Pastor the Church in Frankfort Illinois USA. It was in March 2003 that we eventually moved to the USA where we are at this present time. My eldest son Mark serves with me on the Pastoral staff as associate Pastor. We are busy in training people and equipping them in evangelism and discipleship. We believe this is the year that we will see the Lord’s favor in a special way. We humbly ask you to pray for us. Over this last year or so I have felt a release to pursue a wider ministry internationally. We believe our best years are ahead of us, and we want to be available and sensitive to the Lord’s guidance as He opens the doors of opportunity. It is a privilege to minister for the Lord Jesus Christ who has saved me and changed my life, for that I will be eternally grateful.
